In Oct. 2013, China Industry and Information TechnologyPublishing & Media Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Group") is founded by combining two publishing houses, People's Posts and Telecommunications Press and Publishing House of Electronics Industry, and formed on the basis of the large state-owned publishing media group corporation, which is responsible for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The Group has People's Posts and Telecommunications Press and Publishing House of Electronics Industry along with their wholly owned and joint-venturedsubordinates. Publishing business includes book publishing in the field of science technology, education and public, magazine publishing, digital publishing, and audio &video electronic publishing, etc. Main business includes books, magazine & journal, newspapers, audio &video electronic publications, network publications, editing, publishing and distribution of the digital publication, etc.

TheGroup focuses on publishing business based on the information industry, meeting the needs of modern society, serving to the strategy of Developing the Country by Relying on Scienceand Education, keepingthe leading level in books, magazine & journalpublishing in the field of electronic information technology, computer science and telecommunications. Relying on the professional books, magazine & journal publications, it disseminates the knowledge of science and technology, cultivates a large number of professional and technical talents and plays an important role in promoting informatization & industrialization fusion and taking a new road to industrialization. Children books, tourism books, economic management books, photography and other popular books, lead the wayin the domestic market share,devotingto the development and prosperity of socialist culture.

The main task of the Group is to take capital as the main line, establish a groupmanagement and control mode, further enhance the vitality of development and promote the shareholding system reform and going to the market.It focuses on professional publishing market and the development of digital publishing and cultural creative projectson the basis of sustainable development of the traditional business, and sets out on a path of traditional publishing and digital publishing integration development.

In 2016, the group was under the guidance of the spirit of the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth plenary session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC,State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the group is committed toperfect the governance structure, deepen the system and mechanism reform, strengthen management, speed up the resources integration and promote the development of the business under the general policy of "Deepening Reform, Transformation andUpgrading,Integration Development". With the joint efforts of all members, the group achieved good social and economic benefits.

In 2016, 5743 new titles are printed. The reprint titles amount to8504. There are 26 kinds ofmagazinepublications. The gross income reaches to 1.47 billion RMB. The total profit isaround 191 million RMB.The total number of employees is nearly 1500 people.

In addition to the good economic performance, the social benefit of the Group has been further enhanced. The market share in national book retailing remained ranking fifth. Some publications won awards at national, ministerial and provincial level. Several publication series were selected as “the 13th Five-year Plan of National Important Books”, including“Before the Dawn: Recovering the Lost History of Our Ancestor” and “The Secrets of Codes”, which won the prizes of Recommendation Books of “the 11th Wenjin Book Award”.
